The Other BYU

One of my roommates from spring semester transfered down to BYU Provo in January, so seeing how my brother and sister-in-law were going down and had an extra seat I thought I would join them and stay with Annie for the weekend, just to see if I really was missing out on what Provo had to offer. I got there late Friday night, and after catching up on news and gossip, we went to a dance party, follwed by games, and ice cream from McDonalds. My favorite part of the night, aside from seeing Annie, was seeing my old FHE brother Jared Palfreeman, who came over to say hello. Before going to bed Annie asked me what I thought of Provo? Well to be honest besides staying open later, and being warmer it wasn't much different than Rexburg! Our night finished at 3 in the morning. Saturday morning at 6:00 Jared came and picked us up to do baptisms at the Provo temple, such a good experience, he was able to confirm us, which was just grand. The temple was followed by a run at the fieldhouse, and 3 yes, 3! Plates full of all you can eat Magleby's buffet, that is one very delicious restaurant! Then considering we only got 2 hours and 49 minutes of sleep the night before we took a nap. At around 3:30 we got ready for the day, Annie told me should would take me around campus and show me how it was in the big city. Oh how I LOVED it, there I said it I am love. It was beautiful, I felt like I was on a college campus, there is so much to do, the library was dead silent, and the students actually looked like they were old enough to be there. After we walked around for about 2 hours, we went to the men's volleyball game. And how suprised I was, it was super intense. BYU won 3 games in a row, giving them the victory. How I have missed watching sports where people actually have talent. After the game we got together with some other people and played games, and dined out at Five Guys Burgers and Fries. MMMM divine!! There Annie and I laughed so hard both of us were crying, and I was on the floor with a pain in my side, like literally I think I may have some appendicitis. We went home and attempted to watch the fourth Harry Potter, I barely made it past the opening credits. Sunday morning we woke up, and got ready for church, Jared once again accompanied us to church where I listened to two great lessons, its so nice to hear doctrine taught well, it was followed by an amazing testimony meeting. After church I hugged Annie, Jared, and a few people I met good - bye and headed on my way home. It was so sad to leave, not that I don't love BYU-Idaho because I love it so so much, but I think BYU will be a nice change. Now lets just hope I get in!
